Humanity gathers us
Humanity revealed, as bare as possible
From working drawing we can see visible and invisible, become inflamed.
In Frédéric’s work the curve is so sensual it exudes
This smooth curve hugs the raw of the material like a liana
Caress which goes on to the inexpressible, the indefinite, the promise
Sensuality reaches the pure form, it atomizes itself
A work as a line, an interrupted line on which slides the hand
An interrupted line, on which the mind is reflecting and shining, pulling itself together after so many frolics.
Ovation to curve, core, brightness, raw, organic geometry all directed toward sex, toward voluptuousness, in other words
Extracting the shape of a block, extracting the lightness from the mass,
Frédéric Rabasté knows how to do this and even more, he gives us beauty
Frédéric Rabasté belongs to these artists who are artists since their early childhood
At 16, he learns stone cutting, from town to region,
from sculptors to stone cutters. He discovers way of doing and way of looking.
Tuscany is a turning point, its discovery enables him to assert himself as an artist.
Frédéric Rabasté is young, but he has got 15 years of sculpture in his hands
and much more maturity
